how it works:
Laser hair removal works by targeting the pigment within the hair follicle. The laser's energy damages the follicle, reducing its ability to produce future hair growth.
Because hair grows in cycles, multiple treatments are necessary to effectively target follicles during their active growth phase.
Most clients require a series of 6–10 treatments to achieve significant long term hair reduction, though the exact number varies based on the treatment area, hair density, hormones, and individual goals.
SAFETY, CLINICAL STANDARDS, + AFTERCARE
Our commitment to safety:
At Utah Laser, patient safety is our highest priority. Every treatment is performed using evidence-based protocols and medical-grade laser technology. We follow industry-standard laser-safety guidelines, maintain a sterile treatment environment, and tailor every session to the individual needs of your skin and tattoo. Our goal is to deliver effective results while minimizing risk, discomfort, and downtime.
Advanced Technology + Protocols:
We use advanced laser technology designed to target hair follicles while protecting the surrounding skin. The laser delivers controlled energy to the follicle, disrupting future hair growth while minimizing discomfort and downtime.
Every treatment is customized based on your skin type, hair color, treatment area, and hair density. Our team follows strict safety protocols and adjusts settings throughout your treatment plan to maximize results.
Healing timeline:
First 24 Hours:
Mild redness, warmth, or slight swelling may occur. The treated area may feel similar to a mild sunburn.
Days 2–7:
Hair follicles begin releasing treated hairs. Some clients notice what appears to be new growth, but this is actually the treated hair shedding from the follicle.
Weeks 2–4:
Hair shedding continues and treated areas often appear smoother. Hair regrowth becomes slower and more sparse.
Weeks 4–8:
New hairs enter the active growth phase and become ready for your next treatment. Sessions are typically scheduled every 4–8 weeks depending on the treatment area.
What to expect after your Treatment:
Before treatment, your technician will review your medical history, assess your skin and hair type, and create a personalized treatment plan.
During treatment, most clients describe the sensation as a quick snap of a rubber band or a brief feeling of warmth. Treatment times vary depending on the area being treated, but most appointments last between 10–45 minutes.
Following treatment, mild redness or swelling around the hair follicles is completely normal and typically resolves within a few hours.
Who Performs Your
Treatment:
Under the supervision of our medical director, all treatments are performed by trained and certified laser technicians.
Our team receives ongoing education in laser safety, skin typing, treatment planning, and proper laser operation. We are committed to providing safe, professional care while helping you achieve long-term hair reduction results.
AFTERCARE
INSTRUCTIONS:
For the first 24 hours:
Keep the area clean and dry. Avoid excessive heat, hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, swimming pools, and strenuous exercise that may cause heavy sweating.
If needed, apply a cool compress to reduce temporary redness or sensitivity.
For the first 3–5 days:
Avoid exfoliating products, scrubs, retinol, tretinoin, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, and other potentially irritating skincare products on the treated area.
Avoid excessive sun exposure and wear SPF 30+ daily.
Long-term care:
Do not wax, tweeze, or thread between appointments, as these methods remove the follicle that the laser targets.
Shaving between sessions is encouraged if needed.
Stay consistent with your treatment schedule for the best long-term results
